missed the boat…

Well… I tried to get out of the house early this morning in an attempt to get to get into work early. Mental note: the bus that *used* to go all the way down to ferry terminal, no longer does. Instead it drops you off somewhere near the A&W encouraging (read "forces") you engage in an early morning 300 m dash where you have but a glimmer of hope of catching the ferry. And by "but a glimmer of" I mean, "no chance in hell of".

So, *clearly* that means I'll need to leave the house five minutes earlier, forget the bus and huff my sorry backside down to the ferry terminal on foot. I guess that'll work… It *was* my New Year's resolution to get back into shape. :^)

  1. While I don't have to get on a ferry, i do understand the mad dash to try and make a train that I'm just not gonna make. It always feels like if I only had 3 more seconds and a burst of super speed!

  2. I hate when buses change their routes without warning. I mean, what's up with that?! Couldn't you just catch the next ferry, though? Might mean waiting a little bit but on those really cold/snowy/messy days, that might be much less painful than the walking-alternative…

  4. Same here… I’ve watched the doors lock and the boat pull away just before I get there far too many times.

  5. It was partially my own fault for not checking… it had been a while. I was just surprised because the bus came by at pretty much the same time it used to. And yes, I could have, and did end up taking the next ferry. I ran because I was honestly really close to catching it.
