Tam is now off for short-term disability leave because work has gotten too physically demanding… With Lucas she was working on the Professional Photography counter where she was able to sit down and take care of her work… but that counter no longer exists so she had to work on the normal photo-finishing counter with everyone else. This didn’t allow her to sit down very much at all, which started to strain the underside of her belly.
We were in the IWK (local children’s hospital) Monday afternoon which resulted in the doctor giving Tam a note so she could stay home for a week if she needed to. Tam stayed home Tuesday and went back in Wednesday. The cramping/straining returned stronger so she is now officially off until the next little one arrives.
I hope she takes this opportunity to get the rest she desperately needs.

Although this is very sad, I'm glad to hear that Tamee will finally get the rest she needs to survive this pregnancy. I'm not surprised it's come to this. Christina mentioned how exhausted Tamee looked when she stopped by the store in July. Is this going to affect your financial situation during maternity leave? I surely hope not. Are you going to take Lucas out of daycare? Please give her my love. I will call soon, maybe tomorrow to chat with her. It's been too long…
EEk. I knew she was going to leave early but this was unexpected. 🙁 Is she on bed rest? I'll call later this afternoon. If she gets bored, she's always welcome here. She can rest and be waited on. 🙂
She’s not on bed rest per se, but she is going to try to get much sleep as possible. It’s just being on her feet all day, up and down the stairs… it’s taking its toll. Tam plans on sleeping this morning until she goes in to her doctor for a check-up at 1:50 PM. I’m sure she love to hear from both of you but mybe wait until after the appointment… she needs the rest. We’re leaving Lucas in daycare but this is definitely going to make money a bit tight for a while… We’ll manage though… we always do. :O) We cancelled our parking pass today and I’m going to buy a bus-pass. That’ll save us $70-75 dollars a month. It’ll essentially be me driving Lucas to daycare, driving back home, then me hopping on the bus/ferry to go to work. It’ll require more of a time commitment but it could save us almost $100 a month including what we won’t spend on gas waiting in traffic. We’ll keep you posted.–steelie
K, I'll call later. I have a meeting this afternoon that will mean I won't be home until after 4ish (5ish your time). I'll give you both a ring then!s.
I just thought of something… when I had my big belly and it was hurting to waddle, the doctor suggested I get a belly brace. They fit them over by you at the drugstore next to the hospital. It helps support your under your belly and also your back. I never did get one… was too tired and ill to even get fitted… but it may be worth mentioning to Tam's doctor. It may help with the everyday moving around stuff.
Thanks, Mouse. I'll be sure to mention that to her.–steelie
